Question 1

What is Cow Imposter?

Accepted Answer

Cow Imposter is a free 3D cow simulator game you play in your browser. You are a cow among a herd of cows and you have to behave like one: eat grass, drink, poop, moo, and avoid anything that would give away that you are an imposter. The longer you last, the higher your score.

Question 2

Is Cow Imposter free? Do I need to download anything?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is completely free and there is nothing to download or install. Open cowimposter.com in any modern browser on a computer, phone or tablet and play. You can also add it to your home screen as an app.

Question 3

Is Cow Imposter suitable for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cow Imposter has a dedicated Kids mode: there is no knife and no wolf (a friendly fox instead), nobody gets run over, there is a fence at the cliff, the music is calm, the hunger and thirst bars go down slower, and instead of dying the cow just faints and wakes up again. Outside Kids mode the game is cartoonish, low-poly and silly rather than graphic, so parents generally approve of it.

Question 4

How do you play Cow Imposter?

Accepted Answer

On a computer: WASD to walk, Shift to trot, mouse to look, hold E to graze or drink, M to moo, hold P to poop, C to lie down. On a phone: a thumb stick, drag to look, and buttons for moo, graze and poop. Keep your hunger, thirst and poop bars in order, moo at least once a minute, don't run, don't ignore the tourists, don't flee the milking, and stay away from the cliff edge.

Question 5

What languages is Cow Imposter in?

Accepted Answer

English, Czech, Polish, Slovak, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and French, including the spoken voice guide. The game picks your browser's language and you can switch in the pause menu.

Question 6

What kind of game is Cow Imposter?

Accepted Answer

A casual, funny animal simulation with a survival twist: part cow simulator, part social-deduction joke (you are the imposter among real cows). Short runs, an online leaderboard, a Hardcore mode for people who want it brutal and a Kids mode for little players. The look is low-poly, a bit PS2-era.
